Christina Sun Oo (They/she)
I’m an Autistic/ADHD psychotherapist certified as a licensed clinical professional counselor (Illinois, 180013091) and completed the level two Internal Family Systems training from the IFS Institute. I am currently seeing adult clients virtually across Illinois.
I have practiced as a clinical therapist in inpatient, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient eating disorder programs. In addition to my clinical work, I provided eating disorder consults throughout a hospital program to assist physicians in assessing, diagnosing and making recommendations for eating disorder treatment and follow up care for patients.
I enjoy working with adults of all ages seeking support with eating disorders/body image, gender/sexuality exploration, unique stressors of graduate school, and family of origin issues.
Abolition is the primary value that guides both my own life and practice. In sessions, this involves a deep understanding and compassion for all persons and their parts and a commitment to maintaining space free of pathologization and hierarchical relationships between therapist and client. I am deeply invested in anti-carceral approaches to healing. For clients wanting to engage in a collaborative relationship to foster healing, find joy in their authentic selves, and practice more self compassion, this might be your nest.
Outside of sessions, I enjoy weight lifting, cooking & baking, eating out, reading/audiobooks, Skyrim, live music, jigsaw puzzles, podcasts, and spending time with our 2 cats: Pickles & Pepper, and 6 rats: Korra, Suki (RIP), Ikki, Princess Yue (named for Avatar characters), Phoebe, Julian, and Lucy (named for Boy Genius).
